Kost Karazissis
Kost is one of the most talented and sought after groundmen in the country. He thinks like a horse and teaches from the heart. He’s helped some of the best jumper riders on the West Coast. Kost is a past president of the California Professional Horseman’s Assocation (CPHA) and winner of the CPHA Horseman of the Year award.
Kost’s introduction to horses was watching his mother ride in a drill group at Pickwick Stables in Burbank. He had to come along because they didn’t have a babysitter. Once he started riding he didn’t stop until he was competing in the Grand Prix ring.
It’s hard to talk about Kost without saying “and Jenny”. The two of them are an inseparable team, one that has the ability to get the very best out of a horse and then demonstrate it in a way that attracts the attention of judges, spectators and buyers.
Jenny says, “Kost is a magician at realizing what a horse needs to jump its best. I have so much respect for what he does that when I’m riding a horse for him I feel like a robot. I have faith that he’s setting up a situation that will make the horse better.”
“We give a horse every chance to improve, and do everything we can to get it at its best. It’s very gratifying to see potential and have success through our hard work and experience.”
